Free Family Fishing Day June 18 at Franklin Park in Loudoun County, VA

Want to learn how to fish and have a great day of fun for the entire family? Come out and fish at our free 18 June 2011 Family Fishing Day at Franklin Park in Purcellville Virginia.  Registration will be 08:00 – 09:00 AM. There will be a morning fishing tournament for children 09:00 – 11:30 AM, a picnic including hot dogs and hamburgers 11:30 – 12:30 PM, and a Casting Skills Competition for children 09:00 – 12:00 AM.  Trophies and Prizes will be awarded 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Children will learn how to cast, tie knots, handle fish for live release, and experience the thrill of catching a fish.  We will have some of the area’s best bass pros and local fishing experts on hand to share their secrets with you.  This is a super opportunity for children and adults to enjoy a fun filled day of fishing.

You can bring your own fishing tackle. There will be loaner rods and reels for those who don’t have any.  We will have plenty of live night crawlers on hand to help you catch loads of fish.   To compete in the “Casting Skills Competition”; a registration form must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Directions – Exit Route 7 at the Round Hill exit, go towards Purcellville on E. Loudoun Street about ¾ mile and look for the Franklin Park sign on the right.  The Franklin Park address is 17501 Franklin Park drive, Purcellville VA 20132-9017.
