Pelletier continues to lead after Day 2 of the TBF Northwest Divisional Championship presented by Cabela’s

Day 2 leader still Renaud Pelletier with partner from Caldwell, ID Josh Carver

Hood River, Oregon (4/28/11) – After a calm morning of fishing, the West wind decided to appear in the afternoon in Hood River for the weigh-in of Day 2 of the Northwest Divisional Championship, presented by Cabela’s.

Renaud Pelletier continues to lead the tournament after 2 days of fishing on the Columbia River, with a total weight of 35 pounds 9 ounces. Water levels fluctuated all day causing anglers to adjust their fishing patterns to catch fish. Pelletier said that he had a great day of fishing again and credited his partner, Josh Carver of Idaho, with finding some good fish and helped both of them weigh in good limits of fish today. Pelletier said most of their fish came on tubes and rattlebaits today. Pelletier also said he fished some new areas and found some good fish for tomorrow.

Michael Gibney from the Oregon Federation, moved up a spot to be in second place today, with a total weight of 32 pounds 12 ounces – trying to close the gap on Pelletier. Gibney fished a lot of the same areas as yesterday with crankbaits today and did not get the big bite he was looking for.

Don Boeger Makes Huge Jump today

Idaho Federation angler, Don Boeger moved up from 26th place yesterday to 3rd place today. Boeger’s two day total is 31 pounds even – just 4 pounds 9 ounces behind the leader. “I fished the shallow areas with a drop shot technique and was able to get some key bites to help my team.”

A new big fish leader showed up at the scales today with a 5 pound 7 ounce smallmouth bass, caught by Oregon Federation angler David Newman! David overtook the big fish leader by 1 ounce today.

The team race leader changed hands today as the Idaho Federation pulled ahead of Oregon as the tournament overall team leader.

Friday is the final day of competition for the contenders and more adverse weather is predicted to show up in the Columbia River Gorge. The top 2 anglers from each federation will advance to the 2012 TBF Federation National Championship. Alot is on the line for these anglers. Anglers should continue to weigh in good numbers of fish tomorrow. Weigh in

5 pounds 7 ounces smallie - new big fish leader
