Results of the 2013 MFBA Junior TOC Friday July 26th on North Long Lake in Merrifield, MN
The Junior TOC began with registration and pizza party on Thursday night at Chaps in Merrifield. The pizza and pop were provided by classicbass.com (the premier web site for angling information in Minnesota)
Friday morning everyone met at the public landing in Merrifield and the temp was around 50 degrees. But the spirit were high and the boats took off at 7
We weighed in at Train Bell Resort starting at 1:30, as the anglers were coming in you could hear that it was a tough day. It was on the cooler side, a little rain and the bite had changed for those that had the chance to pre fish. Even though some did not do as well as they would have liked everyone had a good day on the water.
There were a total of 10 angler in the 11-14 age bracket with:
1st going to Joe Stolski with a weight of 5.92
2nd was Roman Chapman with a weight of 4.92
3rd was Carter Vandekamp with a weight of 4,74
In the 15-18 age bracket there were a total of 19 anglers with:
1st going to Christian Ponzetti with a bag of 11.76 pounds
2nd was Ryan Hall with a weight of 10.24
3rd was Jack Kons with a weight of 9.29
The Big fish for the younger bracket and big fish of the day went to Joe Stolski with a weight of 3.62 and the big bass for the older group was Sam Ternes with a weight of 3.07
But there was a catch to the 15-18 year old bracket. Christian Ponzetti will not be able to advance to the Forrest Wood Championship because he will be 19 when that event takes place so Ryan Hall and Joe Stolski will be representing Minnesota at the 2014 Forrest Wood Cup.
At weigh-in free dogs and brats were provided to the anglers by Dietz and Watson premium meats.
Prizes and swag for all the anglers were provided by Cabelas, Berkley, Whopperbaits and Solarbat.
plus Cabelas donated $150 of gift cards.

Powerlodge of Brainerd, the local Ranger dealer, provided $100 of gift cards and a quart of oil for the boat volunteers.
