Regarding Boat Restrictions at U.S. Corp of Engineers (USCOE) owned Dams

KDFWR is opposed to the USCOE decision to unnecessarily restrict boat access below the dams.

Background:

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, released its plans on December 13, 2012 to restrict boating access above and below their dams to maximize safety associated with hazardous waters. These new restricted zones are set to take effect in 2013. Continue reading

North Carolina Bass Federation Holds “Pretty in Pink” Tournament

Ponca City, Okla. – December 7, 2012 The North Carolina Bass Federation, along with sponsors and volunteers from the North Carolina Northern Region area, held a “Pretty in Pink” Benefit Tournament on Saturday, December 1 to raise donations for the Pretty in Pink Foundation.

There were 31 teams in attendance with competition from 7am-3pm.  Pretty in Pink Foundation members, Barbara Fields and Bernadette Pickles, were also present. Continue reading

TBF Junior World Championship Set For August 15-17, 2013

Ponca City, Okla. – November 28, 2012 The Bass Federation, (TBF) announced today the Caddo Parish Commission and the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission will host the 2013 TBF Junior World Championship at the Earl Williamson Park in Oil City, La. The TBF Junior World Championship will be held in conjunction with the most prestigious event in tournament fishing, FLW’s Forrest Wood Cup.  82 TBF junior state champions, one in both the 11-14 and 15-18 age brackets from 41 states, will compete for the championship titles and thousands of dollars in college scholarships.  Continue reading
