Day 1 Leader - Renaud Pelletier (Oregon)

April 27, 2011 –  Hood River, OR – Long time fishing legend Renaud Pelletier representing the Oregon federation from Vancouver, Washington is the Day 1 leader of the TBF Northwest Division Championship, presented by Cabela’s from Hood River, Oregon. With colder than normal water and weather conditions, anglers are targeting pre-spawn fish on the river system. Renaud weighed in a big 5 fish limit of 20 pounds 5 ounces today. Renaud said that he caught fish all day in varying depths using both reaction baits and soft plastics fishing near flats on the river. April 27, 2011 – After a week of strong winds and rough prefish conditions, 58 of the best Northwest Division anglers set out on calm winds this morning. Fishing conditions should be good for the first day of competition. The forecast for the week is fairly stable and should yield good limits of smallmouth on the Columbia River. Limits of fish have been reported in prefish and we’ll see if mother nature cooperates this afternoon. Weigh-in will start at 2:30 pacific standard time at Hood River Marina.
