Pat Klausen from Lincoln, Nebraska sits atop the leader board at the Central Divisional at Lake Truman heading into the last day. On Thursday Pat brought one of only eight, five fish limits, to the scales that weighed 11-08 pounds.  That brought his total to 24-10 pounds, which gives him a 1-3 lb lead heading into Friday’s competition.

Doug Thompson, of Arkansas, claims the second spot, with the second heaviest bag on Thursday with a limit weighing 13-01 pounds.  He stands at 23-07 pounds, just aver a pound behind the overall leader.

Day one leader, Bill Hughan, of Arkansas, lands in third.  His weight of 8-06 brings his total up to 22-15 pounds.  Fourth place belongs to Kent Priel of Nebraska with 9-00 pounds to make his total 22-04 pounds.  The fifth position goes to J. Brandon Carroll for his catch of 8-12 pounds to land him with 20-04 pounds.

Arkansas angler, Bill Hughan leads the 96 angler field, at the Central Divisional at Truman Lake, after the first day of competition.  His day one sack of 14-09 pounds gives him just over a one pound cushion, going into Thursday’s competition.  The fish did not cooperate very well on day one and the weight’s  were a little on the small side overall.

Second place is Kent Priel from Nebraska with 13-04 pounds.  Chad Dick from Kansas and Pat Klausen from Nebraska are tied for third place with 13-02 pounds.  Pat Huse, also of Nebraska finishes out the top five with a limit weighing 12-09 pounds.

Out of 96 anglers, 81 weighed in at least one fish on Day 1.  There were a total of 15 limits brought to the scales and Robert Hill had the Big Bass on Wednesday with a 4-13 pound lunker.

Bryan Dowdy Wins TBF Southern Divisional

Bryan Dowdy, representing the Tennessee Bass Federation, weighed in only four fish today for a weight of 13-11 pounds. That gave him a total of 48-03 pounds and was enough to hold on for the win at the Southern Divisional Championship at Santee Cooper Lakes. Bryan once again also had the biggest bas for the day. He weighed in a 7-07 brute on Day three for the Big Bass Award.
Less than three pounds behind him was Justin Lanier, from Georgia with 16-11 pounds today, giving him a final weight of 46-09 pounds. Michael Wasden of Tennessee weighed 15-04 today for a total weight of 42-04 pounds and a third place finish. Tracy Hewitt of South Carolina finished fourth after he weighed 12-01 today to give him 41-06 pounds. Fifth place belongs to Taylor Watkins of Alabama who had 7-02 pounds today and finished with 38-03 pounds.
In the state to state competition, Georgia edged out Alabama for the state championship title.

Dowdy Takes Over Lead On Day 2 at Santee Cooper

Bryan Dowdy, representing the Tennessee Federation, caught a monster sack of bass to take over the lead on Day 2.  His five bass limit tipped the scales at 19-11 ounces.  That is a good sack on it’s own, but Bryan had a kicker fish in that bag also.  His biggest fish tipped the scales at 9-06 pounds.  That is a toad in anybody’s book.  That weight pushed Bryan up to 34-08 pounds and gives him a one pound lead going into the final day tomorrow.

Herman Vining of South Carolina lurks in second place with 33-09 pounds.  His limit today weighed 17-15 pounds.  He had one of the four limits that weighed over seventeen pounds today.

Third place belongs to Jason Hester of Alabama.  He turned in a solid limit today that weighed 15-12 pounds for a total of 33-02 pounds.  Fourth place was Taylor Watkins, also of Alabama with a sack that weighed 17-08 pounds to give him a total of 31-01 pounds.  Fifth place is Justin Lanier of Georgia with 19-08 pounds to give him 29-14 pounds.

Today there were only 11 limits that were weighed in.  A total of 169 fish were caught that weighed 431-10 pounds.  Today 63 anglers weighed in at least one bass.
