The state team for Idaho went into today’s final round with a 20 pound lead, Kyle Gellles from Pingree, ID has lead the first two days and knew very few anglers can lead and win a three days event wire to wire. However, both managed to hang on to their leads for a uncommon wire to wire win.
Although Idaho did loose nearly all of its 20 pound cushion to Wyoming today who moves up to finish in second place,Idahos lead was just barely big enough to hang on. Their winning weight was 275-00 even. Wyoming made a big jump to finish with 274-05.
As stated Gelles dominated this event in the individual overall standings with his 3 day lead and 3 day weight of 45-05 to claim the title of division champion. Sitting in second place was Bubba O’Neil from Evanston, WY with 42-07 and Mark Maderos, Maple Valley, WA., rounded out the top three with 39-10.
The top 2 anglers from each state federation advance to the 2015 TBF Federation National Championship, the top anglers as a boater in that event and the second place angler as a non-boater. Here is the list of the championship qualified anglers form each state.
